I’m not a big TV series follower (I think my attention span is only suited for movies), but then I got bored the past week and decided to check out HBO’s vampire series, True Blood - and liked it! With the fascination for vampires these days, the series is more adult-oriented than Twilight – more racy and gory (my brother says “soft porn”), definitely not GP material. And yes, I understand why women love it – dangerous and sexy men, and a passionate love story to boot (that I find too mushy for my taste, but that’s just me
).
Anyway, I YM’d my U.S.-based gal pal who loves watching TV, and apparently, she had already finished reading the books and is following the show. Our topic of conversation – Bill, Eric, or Sam?:
Gal pal: ERIC and Sam. But definitely, Eric.
VS: Yah, me too.
Gal pal: Bill’s not that exciting in the books; they’ve changed some things…
VS: Yup, to make the characters more rounded or …
Gal pal: Nobody’s going to watch it. But I like the things they’ve added and those made the series more exciting. Seriously, we need more Eric, though. He’s an a***h*** but is sexy, confident, funny, and can be sweet – in the books at least. I hope they don’t change those for TV.
VS: I look at it as a progression – Eric, the man that’s cold at first and looks unattainable (we know how we girls love those), then he’d turn into a Bill, the one who’s going to woo you, and then eventually ending up as a Sam, dependable and looks after you, a bestfriend. LOL
Gal pal: I hope the series doesn’t end up being a disappointment…
VS: If it loses focus, becomes too convoluted like many TV and book series do, I wouldn’t stick with it.
Gal pal: Yup, and more Eric!
